Facilitating Experiential Learning
Building empathetic citizenship starts from disseminating constitutional and civic values, which is why The Equals Projects has built its mission and objectives on a strong foundation of teaching. From creating course material to hosting unique events, our activities are directed to impact a diverse audience that can benefit from understanding “the story of India today.”

Our goal is to help students get a first-hand view of the nuances of nation building and devise creative, inclusive solutions. With a pedagogy geared toward building skills and values, The Equals Project consciously transforms learning environments into inclusive spaces that encourage students to think from different perspectives and understand the varied experiences of what it means to be a “Citizen of India”.
The 4 pillars of our teaching
Some of our teaching offerings
Our course offerings are highly specialized in structure, content and delivery to meet each cohort’s unique interests and needs, and are built in close collaboration with our partners. Depending on the age of the cohort, our offerings vary in length, intensity and depth.

We offer short courses, summer programs and weekend workshops introducing key political and legal concepts for high school, and middle school students. Our courses place an emphasis on soft skills. We also integrate though experiments, and simulations like a mock constitution assembly to make learning fun!

We organize long form online programs, and weekend certifications for professionals. We also administer intensive skill focused courses on negotiation, as well as weekend workshops on topics of interest like fundamental rights for politically active citizens!

We offer intensive long-form courses as part of university curriculum for public policy, and law students. These courses are centered around debates, deliberations, and drafting exercises, optimized for learners to acquire soft skills like empathy, and hard skills like analysis along with course content. We also organize also crash courses, exploring ideas of justice, constitution making, and nation building for students from a non-legal background.

We work closely with our partner institutions to develop and deliver courses differing in length and intensity – from hands-on activities, and simulations for a younger audience, summer programs, weekend courses and fellowships for young adults, to long-form courses and courses of special interest. Previously, we’ve offered courses to schools, universities, and social organizations!

What resonated most was the conversation on equality, justice and equity, as well as the group activity which encouraged us to think beyond general perceptions.’
